Your First Order!
What should I prepare for the first pickup?
If you have both dry cleaning and wash & fold laundry, we request that you have the 2 separated so that we can ensure that they are processed accordingly! If you plan on leaving your garments at the front door or with concierge, just let us know in the special instructions so the driver knows where to pickup from!
Can I add extra items to my order when you collect…
Yes. Simply add any extra items of laundry that you have, to the member of our team upon collection and we’ll take care of it.
Can I order by phone or email?
Yes you can book your order on phone call, text message, email or by WhatsApp as well. Our team will assist you as soon as possible.
How can I pay for the services?
You can pay by Cash, Card, bank transfer and through payment link as well.
What if I don't have any bags to hand over my laundry. What can I do?
Our team member will have extra bags with him/her when they come for collection/pickup! For your 1st order, feel free to put your laundry in another bag or in disposable bags (i.e., disposable trash bags) and we'll return a bag with your name on it upon delivery!
If you need extra dry cleaning or laundry bags, just let us know!
Do I need to separate my whites and colors?
No, we'll separate it for you! We will separate your laundry for the washing process as well as for the drying process to ensure all of your laundry is processed according to the recommended cleaning instructions! If you have any special requirements such as bleach, free and clear detergent, fabric softener, etc. just let us know in the instructions when scheduling and we'll make sure we take care of that for you!
How long does it take to laundry to be delivered back?
Our default turnaround time for laundry and dry cleaning is 2 days. We offer next day express delivery for wash and fold laundry for an additional fee. so if you want to get your laundry back next or same day just let us know in the special instructions!
I am unsure if my items should be laundered or dry cleaned. What now?
Don’t worry, we don’t expect you to be experts, that’s what we are here for. Our laundry specialists will always check the cleaning instructions on your garments before we begin. As Wash, Tumble Dry & Fold orders tend to be on the larger side, we won’t be able to check every garment so please separate dry clean items in advance.
What happens to my clothes after collection?
Once your items have been collected, they will then be delivered to one of our washing facilities and weighed and sorted by one of our laundry experts. This is where the magic happens. They will then be returned to you sparkling clean at a time to suit you.
What if my clothes are heavily Stained?
We try our best to remove all the stains by using the relevant stain removing chemicals and best washing cycle, detergent, temperature suitable for the garment.
Dry Cleaning
Are you insured in the event of damage?
We understand that putting your high quality garments in the hands of someone else can be rather daunting but rest assured, we will handle your items with the upmost care. While damaged items are an extremely rare occurrence, Laundry 55 are insured for such an occurrence.
What is dry Cleaning and what is laundry? And how they are different?
Dry Cleaning :
Contrary to the misconception, this mode of cleaning is not dry but involves incorporation of other mediums (solvents), rather than water to clean fabrics. Solvents in dry cleaning are less reactive and milder in terms of cleaning providing a cleaning solution for fabrics susceptible to water. Contrary to wet cleaning, dry cleaning is a closed system and the solvent is filtered and reused.
Prominent solvents in the industry are:
Perchloroethylene : known as Perc is a hydrocarbon based solvent identified on care labels as ? widely used due to high reactivity with oil stains which can be boosted by special detergents and sizing agent providing the best cleaning amongst all other dry cleaning solvents with a very small limitations.
Green Earth : a patented technology developed by Green Earth utilizes silica based solvent – being totally inert – means chemical reactivity is at zero and only acts as a medium – cleaning is boosted by detergents and other additives. It can clean all those items that cannot be cleaned in normal dry cleaning and wet cleaning. It is as well much friendlier for environment compared to Perc due to its nature but much weaker in terms of cleaning and oil stain removal.
Normal washing (Laundry)
- as known to everybody, involves the use of water and detergent to clean garments. Factors involved in such procedure are:
Water
– as the best medium being the best solvent with high chemical reactivity and the ability to penetrate in the fabric resulting in best cleaning
Water Temperature
– the higher the temperature the better cleaning result with more possibility of risk
Alkalinity
– the higher the PH, the better the cleaning with increased risk
Mechanical action
– the more mechanical action, the better cleaning with higher risk to the fabric
Detergent
– reacts readily with water facilitating removal of dirt from fabric
Wet cleaning (Soft wash) : This terminology stands for a new technology which creates a milder environment for garments to be cleaned with much lower risk of damage worthy of following notes:
Water
– in this technology, water is softened to almost distilled water helping to dramatically reduce its reactivity resulting in much lower risk
Water Temperature
– is reduced to around 20°
Alkalinity – kept at PH level 7-8, most neutral
Mechanical action – is reduced dramatically
Detergent – is the most sophisticated part of the technology whereby coats the fabric during cleaning cycle stopping water from penetrating into the fabric minimizing shrinkage and other possible risks.

Do I need to weigh my Wash, Tumble Dry & Fold bag?
Not at all, our team of laundry specialists will weigh in your order on arrival at the facility or if you prefer, we can weight it at your door. Once that has been done, we’ll update your order with the weight
When making a Wash, Tumble Dry & Fold order, is there anything I can’t include?
Please also make sure that any dry clean only garments aren’t included as they could shrink during the tumble dry process.
Do you offer an iron only service?

What about kid’s clothing. Is this priced differently?
Yes in case of wash fold service prices are same but for dry cleaning and ironing prices are different.
